7:00 pm, Free!

Cummington Community House,  33 Main Street Cummington MA

Featuring Hilltown Families photo exhibit by Sienna Wildfield

Bring potluck snack if you like – we may have a kids’ art-making space in back – bring a candle in a jar for lights out at 8:30 – bring seeds to swap – bring fliers or brochures about your farm, Hilltown business, or sustainability project to share. My music highlights the same themes as Chesterfield’s Sienna Wildfield’s photos, in her exhibit, Hilltown Families: A Traveling Photography Exhibit of Life and Landscape in Western MA. The photos will be featured at the event (www.hilltownfamilies.org).  Wildfield’s work powerfully illustrates the richness of the Hilltowns and the connections between ourselves, land, food, work, etc. The photos tell stories of life in the Hilltowns and illustrate the culture and values of the area.

Earth Hour celebrates a worldwide commitment to ongoing change for the betterment of our home. Along with millions of others around the planet, we will douse the lights (at 8:30 pm) for one hour. www.earthhour.org. Please bring a candle IN A JAR if you have one.

This program is supported in part by grants from the Cummington, Windsor, Worthington, and Plainfield Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. www.massculturalcouncil.org

At Earth Day 2007, singing “Solid Ground”

It’s the land that is our wisdom

It’s the land that shines us through

It’s the land that feeds our children

It’s the land, you cannot own the land, the land owns you.

Performance reviews and audience reaction

“With her vast and unusual repertoire, Sarah spins a story into a lyrical web of sound that she wraps ever so gently around the listener, moving and changing them. Her presence is as compelling as her performances are unforgettable, awakening the heart and mind of those lucky enough to hear her remarkable song interpretations. She’s my favorite local singer.                                                                                                                 – Penny Schulz

“Her singing is soulful and deeply felt; when she began to sing I felt the mood in the whole room change.”

“I haven’t fall so much in love with a singer since I first heard Kate Bush.”

“My CD player has become a Sarah Stockwell jukebox. I just can’t get enough of her!”

“Eroticism, grace and a deep, loving sensuality are brought to every note.”
